What is Saju?
A Korean way of reading the patterns you were born with.
Saju (사주, 四柱) means “four pillars.” It is a traditional Korean system that turns your date, time, and place of birth into a chart of four pillars — Year, Month, Day, and Hour — and reads that chart for patterns in personality, relationships, work, money, and different stages of life.
You may also hear 팔자 (palja, “eight characters”): each pillar is written with two characters, so a full chart has eight. Korean Saju is closely related to Chinese BaZi, and both use this same Four Pillars framework.
If tarot or astrology feels familiar, think of Saju as another way of exploring yourself — but instead of drawing cards, your chart is calculated from your birth information.

Stems and Branches
Every pillar has two parts: a Heavenly Stem on top and an Earthly Branch below. Four pillars with two parts each give the eight characters of a chart.
Your Day Master

The Five Elements
Stems and Branches each belong to one of five elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, or Water. Your chart shows where each appears, which adds detail to the picture your Day Master starts.
Saju and BaZi
Korean Saju and Chinese BaZi are closely related Four Pillars traditions. They share the same underlying framework, though terminology, cultural context, and interpretive practice can differ. SAJUVIBE follows the Korean Saju tradition.

If you don’t know your birth time
You can still start. SAJUVIBE does not invent a birth time. Instead it considers every birth time that is possible on your birth date and place, and shows only what stays the same across all of them.
Your Hour Pillar remains unknown, and time-dependent details may be unavailable. If the possible times disagree on your Day Master, SAJUVIBE withholds the Day Master-based reading rather than guess. A reading without a birth time is less complete than one with it.
